Six problems associated with irrigation are:

-Irrigation equipments are very expensive to purchase and maintain
-Irrigation equipments also disturb farm machineries i.e it prevents free movement of farm machineries and implements
-Lack of sufficient water source in streams, rivers, etc. is a problem. Low volume of water affect irrigation
-Too much dissolution of salts in irrigated water hinders proper crop growth. This can also hinder or affect the pH of the soil.
-Build up of pests and diseases. Pests and diseases from dry surrounding invade and damage crops in irrigated environment.
-Pollution of irrigated water with dangerous chemicals may be harmful to crops or animals.
