Phythormones: Explanatory note on plant/phytohormones

They are organic substances produced in one part of the plant and translocated to other parts.
They elicit specific responses in target organs/tissues.
They are active in small or low concentrations as higher concentration are generally inhibitory.
They are used for co-ordination of plant growth and development.
Examples include: auxin, giberrelins, cytokinins, etc.
