Asexual reproduction being a reproduction by a single organism without production of gametes has some disadvantages. These include the following;
-no genetic variation occurs among the offspring
-if spores are produced, many will fail to find a suitable place to thrive, thus larger number of them are wasted.
-If an organism spreads in one area, it may result in overcrowding and exhaustion of nutrients
-Diseases and undesirable characteristics may be inherited from parent.
