Diffusion; what is diffusion?

Diffusion is the movement of solute/gas/molecules from a region of high solute/gas/molecular concentration to a region of low solute/gas/molecule concentration
– no membrane are involve
– it’s a passive process/energy is not required
– redistributes solute/gas/molecules to achieve homogeneity
– occurs in both living and nonliving systems
– the rate of diffusion is inversely proportional to molecular weight of diffusing substance
