Why do citizens obey the laws of the state?

THE REASONS WHY CITIZENS OBEY THE LAWS OF THE STATE.
Citizen are legal members of and owe allegiance to a 
particular country they reside in, and in which when occassion calls for that. They obey the
laws of the state because. 

• It  is the responsibility of good citizens
  to obey the laws of  the state. 
• To
  enable them enjoy certain rights every responsibility entails privilege. 
• Citizens obey the laws of state in order to ensure convenience and orderliness in the state. 
• Some citizens obey the laws of the state
  because of sanctions like court fines and
  jail terms. 
• Many citizens obey the laws of the state because of fear  of harsh public opinion against them. 
• Obeying laws of the
  state shows loyalty to the government and confers legitimacy on such government. 
• Many
  citizens obey laws of the state because of their upbringing. 
• Some good citizens obey the laws of
  the state like payment of taxes because they
  want government to provide them essential services.
